In 1987 he followed his parent’s example by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. Dell met his wife Linda at Camp Pendleton, CA and they married in 1989. Dell has deployed to fourteen countries including Saudia Arabia and Kuwait during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Gulf War.

His dedication to selfless service is at the core of his character and is evident to everyone who knows him. Dell is proud to have had all his children complete military service as well in the Air Force, Marines and Navy.

In 2007 Dell connected his military leadership experience and his expertise in munitions with his core value of servant leadership and found his life’s passion and purpose in law enforcement.

Beginning his career in law enforcement, Dell spent 4 years with the Geronimo and Medicine Park Police Departments. From there he secured a full-time Police Officer position with the Comanche Nation Police Department and has enjoyed 10+ years of service and leadership within the department. His passion and pursuit of being a servant-leader in the community led him to become a candidate for Sheriff In 2012, where he received 20% of the vote against the county’s long time Sheriff. In 2020 he continued his pursuit of the office, receiving a substantial increase to 40% of the votes. In 2021, Dell stepped away from the profession he loves to support and care for his family after the tragic loss of his wife Linda.

Now that his family has found healing, Dell has returned his focus to his passion and calling to law enforcement and is announcing his third run for Comanche County Sherrif. With three decades of leadership, mentorship, and service to his country and community, Dell is prepared to leverage his experience, leadership, and strong community rapport to take the reins and serve as Comanche County’s next Sheriff.
